MID-HUDSON VALLEY CHAPTER
SOCIETY FOR HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
JOB SHADOWING
We encourage you and your organization to get involved in Job Shadowing.

Job Shadowing is designed to provide students an opportunity to “shadow” an adult during their daily work activities. It shows young people the opportunities available to them in the world of work. The goal is to help young people explore first hand the skills and education needed to succeed in today’s and future job markets.
As a job-shadow mentor, you will be in good company. Past workplace mentors include: Former President H.W. George Bush, Former Secretary of State Colin Powell, Monster CEO Jeff Taylor, Today Show personalities Katie Couric, Matt Lauer, Al Roker and Ann Curry.
February 2, 2006 is the kickoff day for Job Shadowing in 2006. While many students actually shadow mentors at work on that day, job shadowing continues throughout the year. Job Shadowing is a joint initiative of a coalition that includes America’s Promise, Junior Achievement, The U.S. Dept. of Education and the U.S. Department of Labor.
Get involved!
