Benefits Manager
ARC of Rockland
ARC of Rockland is a recognized leader in the Human Services field, serving Rockland County NY, providing a variety of services to people with developmental disabilities and their families.
We are currently seeking, an experienced, detail-oriented, creative, motivated individual who is a self-starter for the position of Benefits Manager.
This is a hands-on transactional position which includes benefits administration and coordination for an organization offering a variety of benefits programs for approximately 650 union and non-union employees. Duties include enrolling employees in benefits programs, making ongoing enrollment changes and terminating benefits for departing employees; overseeing annual open enrollment periods; coordinating benefit-related payroll deductions with payroll department; maintaining employee benefits records; COBRA coordination with outside COBRA Administrator; resolving benefits issues and concerns with employees and vendors; FMLA, Workers’ Compensation and Short-term Disability administration; 403B and pension plan administration; data entry, database maintenance and report generation utilizing ADP PC/Payroll, HR Perspective and ReportSmith; responding to requests for employment verification; presenting benefits programs at weekly new hire orientations; annual EEO-1 reporting; generating purchase requisitions for benefits services; costing benefits services to appropriate departments; providing preliminary payment approval on invoices from benefits vendors; administering tuition reimbursement program; checking employee roster against Medicaid exclusion list on a monthly basis; and providing back-up to HR Generalist on new hire processing.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in business or human resources, plus a minimum of 5 years of benefits administration experience. PHR/CEB certification preferred. Current knowledge of ERISA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, FLSA and other federal and New York State employment law required. Ability to effectively use ACCESS, EXCEL and WORD is a must. Knowledge of ADP PC/Payroll, HR Perspective and ReportSmith is a big plus.

HR Staffing Coordinator

We are seeking a versatile generalist who will provide support for a wide variety of activities of human resources with primary concentration on staffing and recruiting. Position will be responsible for applicant tracking, collaborating with teams on recruitment strategies, creating tools and systems, and developing an effective pipeline of key talent. Possessing a versatile skill set, will also be assigned to perform various other HR functions. Position reports to the Director of HR.
This professional must have working knowledge of EEO, Affirmative Action and legal implications surrounding all recruitment, selection, and hiring activities, as well as current and innovative recruiting techniques . Team player, organized, superior written and verbal communication skills, PC/HRIS skills. BS or BA preferred with minimum 2 years of professional recruiting experience in an HR department or search firm. Previous experience in direct support recruiting desired. This position will perform a wide variety of both complex and routine administrative services.
