The Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter of SHRM is again offering scholarships for members who wish to pursue Human Resource Certification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR). 

Full or partial scholarships are available for a wide variety of certification preparation and examination costs, including:

·        Cost of Certification Preparation course offered through Marist or other colleges. Visit  HRCI for a complete listing of colleges offering the course.

·        Cost of the SHRM Self-Study Learning System™.   This system includes pre- and post- tests, six self-study print modules, electronic flashcards, and learning software.  Visit www.shrm.org/learning/selfstudy for details. 

·        Cost of Examination for SHRM members: 

            PHR:  application fee ($75) + examination fee ($175) = $250

            SPHR: application fee ($75) + examination fee ($300) = $375

Applying for a Chapter Certification Scholarship or Stipend is fast and painless:

Eligibility:

1. You must be a current member of the Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter of SHRM.
2. You must qualify to sit for the PHR or SPHR examination.  (Visit HRCI for qualification requirements.)
3. You must not have corporate support to cover the same certification prep and/or exam costs.  (Please attach a signed statement from your employer verifying that your employer will not provide the same financial support you are requesting from the Chapter.)
4. You must agree to register for and sit for the examination within the testing windows indicated on the application
5. You must complete and sign the application form. 

Preference will be given to Chapter members who have been or are currently active on the Chapter Board or Committees. If partial awards are made, applicant has right to withdraw application.
