ABOUT US
The Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (MHVSHRM) serves Human Resource professionals and the business community in the Mid-Hudson Valley region of New York. Since its affiliation with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) in 1979, the Chapter has grown into the progressive, active professional organization it is today. The major missions of MHVSHRM are to provide Human Resource professionals with professional development and networking opportunities and to raise awareness of the important role Human Resources professionals serve in the business community.

Meetings and Annual Conference
While meetings are typically held in Orange County, NY, our members work for companies throughout the Hudson Valley/Catskill Region, New York City, northern New Jersey and northeastern Pennsylvania. To meet the needs of our members, most meetings are held in the morning, with continental breakfast. While membership in the Chapter is open only to SHRM members, MHVSHRM welcomes HR Professionals and other members of the business community to our meetings and conferences.
The Chapter’s monthly meetings provide educational and networking opportunities to members and visitors. We are particularly proud to bring nationally known speakers to our annual conferences. A number of our members have earned Human Resource certification through the Human Resource Certification Institute. Many of our educational meetings are awarded recertification credits which certified members can apply toward their recertification requirements.
Membership
The leadership of the Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter strongly believes in the benefits of membership in the Society for Human Resource Management. Therefore, membership in the Chapter is open exclusively to members of the Society for Human Resource Management. However, SHRM dues entitle members to membership in MHVSHRM with no additional cost!
Chapter Organization
The Chapter is a non-profit organization with no paid staff. Dedicated volunteers handle all aspects of the Chapter’s business and programs and in so doing, hone their own skills and leadership abilities. The Chapter is led by a five member Executive Board elected by the membership. The Executive Board positions include: President, President-Elect, Vice President - Programs, Vice President - Member Services, Communications Director and Treasurer. Numerous other volunteers serve as Committee Chairs and committee members. These members volunteer their time and expertise to meet the needs of the Chapter’s membership and attain the high standards and expectations set by SHRM for its affiliates.
